Shoppers were treated to a Houdini-style escape act as part of a city supermarket’s birthday celebrations.
Escapologist Richard Viner was chained up and suspended 30ft from the roof of Tesco’s Extra in Western Avenue, Cardiff as part of the store’s first anniversary celebrations.
Crowds of shoppers cheered on the muscleman who managed to wriggle free from his shackles in less than two minutes – almost breaking his current record.
Tesco marketing manager Richard Thorpe said – We had a great day. Richard is one of the best performers I have ever seen, the shoppers thought he was great. We just wanted to thank them for shopping at Tesco’s by giving them something back.
