Cirq-U are two fabulously skilled women who provide high quality entertainment that will dazzle and amaze you. They are internationally established artists and are amongst the UK’s top aerial performers. Their clients have included: Tate Modern, Rolls Royce, British Airways, Selfridges, Vauxhall, Amaretti, Cisco Computers, Oman Oil, The Royal Bank of Scotland, The Brit Awards, Commonwealth Games, Sky TV, BBC, Hay Literary Festival, Dubai Shopping Festival, Torture Garden. They have also been featured in The Sunday Observer and Tatler. Acts include: Human Mirrorball-(web/corde lisse) a radiating centre piece. Starting with slow, beautiful corde lisse culminating in radiating iridescent colour upon onlookers with a fast and dynamic web act, using hand and foot spins. Kaleidoscope-doubles hoop with startling symmetry, mesmerising to watch as the performers, two sides of the same coin, alternate between being one and separate. Fallen Angels-graceful trapeze with beautiful self- inflating wings with a wonderfully uplifting feeling. Starting with simple swinging trapeze high-lighting the visual effects of the wings leading into synchronized static trapeze. Cocoon-elegant & classic doubles silks, starting from a chrysalis state emerging to birth and beauty. This act can be performed as an aerial hang about/installation piece over approx a twenty-minute period Scarlet Fever-This beautifully clean, crisp act is full of life with quirky character & has often been chosen as a strong opener for any show. Enjoy the unique style of movement through this glorious choreography of this solo silks performance. Cello-Graceful flowing solo hoop piece, performed to a single cello. Collaborations & commissions welcomed.
This is an elegant, powerful aerial work which uses imagery of the chrysalis and the emergence from within it. Using the metaphors of the fabric to reveal a new creation but also as new wings, to grow and take flight. As the silks are white they can be bathed in coloured light to give any hue of colour desired and so enabling a vast range of atmosphere is possible. The girls can start already hidden within the folds of the fabric at the top of each silk before the audience enter the performance area (although due to physical constraints they can only wait there a few minutes before the audience arrive). If the audience are already present there is a short, slow, gentle choreography, starting on the floor manipulating the silk gently so the movement is caught and travels along the length of the fabric as it is suspended, before the girls take to the air. These girls have also been featured at Selfridges, Oxford St., London as part of their ‘Body Craze’ Exhibition in a similar aerial installation. The show can be performed as a shorter stage act or a longer installation piece.
