Nikki Andrews & Richard Durnford have worked together for the last eight years. They have most recently trained at the Centre National Arts du Cirque, Chalons, France.They currently run the acrobatic program at Circomedia, Centre for Contemporary Circus & Physical Performance.
Classic marble statues performing stunning adagio that are ideal for walkabout and meet and greet. Most frequently asked question: “Are they real?” With painstaking attention to detail the audience is treated to the site of two marble statuesque figures set on a classical white podium. Very slowly they come to life. There follows a mesmerising fusion of strength, grace and perfect fluidity of movement underscored with an emotion seemingly trapped within stone. Performed on our own podium (1.5m x lm x 80cm high) – we require a minimum of 4.5m clear headroom. Duration is flexible – normally 3 x 30 mins or 2 x 45 mins If music is required we will supply it on CD – the client must supply a PA We need somewhere to change with access to, water, sink, toilet and a warm-up space.
A classic adagio stage act. An emotionally charged dance of technical precision performed with a reckless disregard for gravity. A breathtaking display of physical prowess, agility and grace seamlessly choreographed to music by Penguin Café Orchestra. Duration of act is 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Sound and light tech to be discussed prior to performance. A minimum clear space of 4m by 3m and height of 4.5m is required. Our music is supplied on CD – the client must supply a PA. Penny and Bernie have been touring the circuit for one too many seasons. Their rocky road is about to come to a very public end as a petty pre-show tiff threatens to escalate out of control and a minor slip of the foot turns their usually slick acrobatic act into a major farce. A comedy involving small hair attachments and very big egos. Duration of act is 10 minutes. Sound and light tech to be discussed prior to performance. A simple and elegant piece of circus apparatus, a sixteen foot high Chinese Pole, is the dramatic setting for this act. On top are handstand blocks.A wonderful connection with the audience combined with a breathtaking display of athletism and nerve make this an edge of your seat performance. The handstand finale is a real heart-stopping moment the audience will remember for a long time.This act toured the UK for three months as part of NoFit State’s 2002 SciCircus show. Duration of act is 6 minutes.A minimum of 5m height is required though rigging of the Pole needs to be discussed in advanced and preferably a site visit undertaken, to ascertain the suitability of the venue.
