Stilt Characters Specializing in animating spaces, Artizani’s stilted characters bring colour and humour to any space. You may meet Bugsy and Fingers the Chicago gangsters as they check you out and roll a few suckers. It might be W.G. Grace and Sir Don Bradman arguing the toss over who was the greatest cricketer of all time and taking on all comers. If its disco you are after there are two John Travoltas suited up and ready to dance. Other stilt characters include Two English Businessmen, The Doctors, or Frankensteins Monster. If nothing quite suits, then commission your own costume. All these are fabulously costumed with props to match, and are played at a height of three meters. For added value we can perform up to three characters at an event for the same price. Artizani stiltwalkers have wide experience of festivals, stadiums and corporate functions

Other Stuff / Specialties / Cunning Stunts Corporate Artizani has extensive experience of high quality corporate entertainment ranging from providing meet and greet characters such as at the Brit Awards 2001, or the opening of the Millenium Dome, New Years Eve 1999, to choreographing high profile performances such as at the Autosports awards 1997. We also conceive and organize one off publicity stunts such as teaching the Managing Director of Konica Scotland to walk a 4m high tightrope to launch a new service agreement (“Konica with Konfidence”). Cabaret Artizani performs a cabaret show featuring surreal comedy and a variety of spectacular skills. We also have experience of M.C.ing and hosting themed cabarets. The show will be tailored for the venue, time scale and audience. Theatre Artizani has a wealth of experience directing and choreographing professional theatre and in teaching actors. We specialize in physical comedy, circus and aerial skills. Artizani has worked on productions from Shakespeare to Gilbert and Sulivan in the UK and abroad. TV Artizani has appeared in a number of adverts and programs as a speciality act, and many Artizani performers work regularly as TV actors. We can provide exponents of any human circus skill, all of whom are experienced and professional as well as high caliber stage combat performers. Credits include Celebration, World in Action, Record breakers, Eggs ‘n Baker and adverts for NW Trains and the Lowry Centre. Community Artizani has a strong history of community projects. We teach skills, coordinate and produce spectacular community events and celebrations. Our input can be as little as a single workshop or as much as the coordination of a promenade performance with over a hundred participants.

The Cherubs is a memorably visual piece of theatre. Painted Gold from head to toe and unaware of humiliation or the cold, two gilded angels take to the street on golden scooters innocently interacting and spreading divine mayhem. They court the banal and the profound, creating the most surreal images on their journey. The creation of this show was supported by North West Arts

SYROVY! Syrovy enters the space and everyday objects conspire against him: newspapers become sails, there is a waterfall of cutlery, he dances with chairs and clothes confound him. Led by an eclectic soundtrack Syrovy travels through a succession of homage’s to his fantasy icons. The show is inspired by the comic routines of Buster Keaton, Harpo Marx, Gene Kelly and Neil Armstrong and is both spectacular, and meticulously detailed.

Two Oxbridge undergrads descend from their ivory towers and are off for a relaxing punt. Blissfully unaware of reality and physics the boat drifts down busy streets as they regale and serenade the public. This promenade performance is based on an adapted electric vehicle which can cover quite a large area if required – it works both as a surreal image glimpsed from a distance or as comic interaction. The punt also works as the “Ferry over the river Styx” – for Halloween or any ghoulish event – dressed with cobwebs and creepy crawlies, with Death standing in the stern and his faithful servant at the helm the boat drifts along on it’s way to the underworld.

Following on the success of Punt! This “Street Boat” is based on an 8ft clinker-built skiff. The show extends the fantastically surreal images of the Punt and carries two hilarious and eccentric characters into your event. The Shipwrecked Captain and Boatswain’s Mate have been adrift since 1786 and are more than a little confused! Baton down the hatches as we re-live every seafaring cliché from Treasure Island to Moby Dick.

“Desert Island Discs was everything that is good and right in street theatre. …the story of a castaway who starts the show determined to keep up standards …Dressed properly for dinner, with stiff upper lip, he is keen to show that he can tame the wild. But of course nature bites back …classic physical clowning that is on a direct line of descent from Keaton and Chaplin…he makes it look like anyone could do it, but in truth few can perform with such assurance, or entertain so well, in the public space.” Review: Total Theatre Magazine
